Your Interior Business

Your Interior Business is a startup eLearning platform solely for interior designers.  They asked for a vibrant website to appeal to a female target market aged circa 30 and to fit in with the bold branding that they had designed elsewhere.

From the earliest stages of brainstorming and jotting on post-its, through to creating Use Cases, Wireframes, Mock-Up designs, and then to the final stages of development, I had a very close working relationship with the client having bi-weekly meetings, ensuring they had full transparency over the process and had enough opportunity to highlight any needs or pain-points.

Each stage proved crucial to ensuring the team’s output was in line with what the client had envisioned, but also prompted some important questions the client hadn’t thought about in terms of the user journey, functionality, upsell opportunities etc.

We factored in a Soft Launch, where we tested the website on 18 aspiring Interior Designers who matched the profile of their target market.  Their feedback and findings found from Soft Launch served as valuable insight for us to better improve the website for the real launch; using Smartlook we were able to assess where users were dropping off, and what CTAs they were responding to or not responding to.

The website was designed in line with their branding guidelines.  The imagery chosen reflects the target market, and modern interior design.  Their colour-palette was particularly bold with 6 dominant colours.  I was very cautious to implement them into the design without anything clashing together and maintaining a clean look.  The menu was designed and built to stand-out and has been described as the clients’ favourite part of the entire website.

We responded to feedback collated from the Soft Launch to better improve navigation, user journey and optimise layouts.

Since launching, the business has experienced unexpected interest from existing Interior Designers, in addition to the targeted aspiring Interior Designers and so I continue to work closely with the client analyze and adjust as necessary.
